”. . .And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

(and he was saying , , ,) “ Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me.

Yet- not My will, but Yours be done . . . “ Luke 22:44 & 42

2) Study topic is prayer. Prayer is a huge subject, it can not probably be covered properly in a lifetime ! Nevertheless there are 5 aspects of prayer that we will go through in this study.

Those 5 areas are

~ A) PROPER PREPARATION FOR PRAYER B) CONSISTENCY C) FAITHFULNESS  D) FERVERENCY  E) PRESSING FARTHER  . . .~

A) PROPER PREPARATON FOR PRAYER

Proper preparation for prayer consists basically of two parts.

-PROPER preparation of one’s HEART (first part)

-that produces the fruit of a LIFESTYLE (second part)

That lifestyle is then, therefore, consecrated and grounded and always growing in true, bible based prayer

Concerning heart preparation, 1John says:

1Jo 3:19-22 Hereby shall we KNOW that we are OF THE TRUTH, and shall assure our heart before him:

because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our

heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God; and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because

we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

Further, concerning heart preparation, David says:

Psa 24:3-5 Who shall ascend unto the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, and has not

sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from Jehovah, and righteousness from the God of his

salvation.

Lastly, Jesus “nailed it” when he said Mathew 6:33:

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be

added unto you.

One of the very first things we as Christians are supposed to have is a DESIRE and an OBEDIENCE to prayer.

Finally, Matt 6:6 says:

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.

IN THE EYES OF THE LORD, IT’S NOT EVEN A QUESTION OF “IF” YOU PRAY

IT’S  JUST A MATTER OF “WHEN” !

B) CONSISTENCY

In CONSISTENCY lies the POWER in prayer. 🙂

Scripture says:

Luk 11:1-3 And it came to pass, as he was praying in a certain place, that when he ceased, one of his

disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, even as John also taught his disciples.

And he said unto them: When ye pray, say, Father, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come

Give us day by day our daily bread

(day, by day, next day, that day, not yesterday, this day, that day, day, by day by endlessly DAY !)

And

-Luk 22:39-41 And he came out, and went,

as his custom was,

unto the mount of Olives; and the

disciples also followed him. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter

not into temptation. And he was parted from them about a stone’s cast; and he kneeled down and

prayed , , ,

He did it. We need to do it. HAVE CONSISTENCY IN YOUR PRAYER LIFE-IN YOUR PRAYER TIME !

🙂

C) FAITHFULNESS

Faithfulness speaks of STRUCTURE. The Lords prayer has, and had, STRUCTURE to it. There were

certain attitudes , preconceived ideas to get rid of , as well as specific things to pray for, to ask for .

We suggest, based on scripture, that in your daily prayer life you “follow a structure” such as:

-You come with the right attitude, First.

– Then, thank him for all the GOOD things in your life.

-Then, go through “your list”.

-Then, by faith, go through the list of those family members the Lord lays on your heart

-Then, pray for those is authority over you, as God directs ,,,

Then, finally, SAY (whether you feel like it or not)

Thank you, in Jesus name, for hearing , working on, and bringing to fulfillment all the prayers I just

prayed with you. I love you Jesus”.

D) Fervency.

Other words for ferverent are: Passion, Consecration, True Concern.

Concerning passion and reverence, remember the Lord is always looking for , wants us to -and DEMANDS

of us -GROWTH

Under that principle, as a Christian, there has God to be a place in your walk with the Lord, where you

simply cry out, as did Rachel:

Gen 30:1 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and she said

unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

Have you got to that place in your walk with the Lord, in your hunger for Him and the things of His Kingdom

-specifically in your PRAYER LIFE-where you would rather “die” than-for example-“NOT SEE NEW SOULS

BORN INTO THE KINGDOM ?”

???

Passion. Consecration.

True Concern.

Further scriptures:

Rom 12:11-12 As to diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in

affliction,

steadfastly continuing in prayer,

-Col 4:12 Epaphras greets you, he being of you, a servant of Christ,

always laboring fervently for you in prayers,

that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

And, it nothing else “moves you” towards reverence in prayer-Paul says this:

-Phi 3:17-19 Brothers, be imitators together of me, and mark those who walk this way, for you have us for

a pattern. (For many are walking, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even weeping, as the

enemies of the cross of Christ; whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in

their shame, those who mind earthly things.)

Ferverency.

God wants you to have it ! !

E) Pressing farther , , ,in YOUR prayer life !

In the Garden, on the way to prayer, scripture records Jesus :

Mat 26:39 >>>And He went a little further

(Jesus had to GO FARTHER-to get the strength and the answers to what He was praying about !! )

and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, , , not as I will, but as You will. “
